This page will contain information about workrelated projects I am and have been involved in.

Strategies for commercialisation and market development of new renewable energy-technology:

The project seeks to examine innovation, implementation and commercialization of bioenergy and related technologies from the suppliers’ point of view. With this in mind, its main purpose is to perform a comparison between Norway and Sweden. At a general level the project aims to study different efforts at utilizing bio energy that has resulted in successful implementation, commercialization and market development in the two countries.

Media reporting on climate changes
How do the Norwegian media cover climate changes? Building on past research this small project seeks to uncover how Norwegian and Swedish newspapers have reported on climate changes and the science of climate change. Resources available online:

The Malawi Landtenure and Social capital Research-project

The MLT&SC’s main goal is to assess what impact formalization of property rights to land will have on the distribution of this important economic resource in the population. As an MA-associate with the project I had the opportunity to do three months of fieldwork in the Kasungu district in central-Malawi. In my thesis I examined two Common Pool Resources from an institutional point of view, trying to assess how formal and informal institutions fosters cooperation, conflict or something in-between. In addition to studying actual Common Pool Resources a series of experimental public goods games were played with local participants to see how cooperative players could be under stable rules of the game.

The Sociology of Cafés

This project explores the social potential in cafés as something we may loosely call 3rd places. They are not our homes, they are not our official working places, and yet we continue to seek them out to do things that could just as easily have been done elsewhere. In this project I have mainly been involved in the empirical work; qualitative observations as well as interviews. There are (vague) plans for a book – a goal is to have this out by fall, 2010, and on some level or other I’ll be involved in the writing of this. More to come on this. The project has generated some media-attention. Read about it in:
