Hi Ernesto,

I have the article by LaPelle, if you want it I could send it to you. Just drop me a line with your e-mail address.

Basically it's a fairly hands-on text written as a sort of guide. It gives sound, commonsensical advice on how to use simple functions like tables to create databases of coded data, illustrated with practical examples and would probably serve your needs..

Hi Tomas,

My name is Ernesto and I am doing research at KTH Sweden. I was trying to find some advices about how to do qualitative data analysis using common programs as Word. I have found an article "Simplifying Qualitative Data Analysis Using General Purpose Software Tools" by LaPelle but could not download it.

Do you have any suggestion about functions in Word that may simplify qualitative data analysis?

Its sad how one type of environmentally friendly energy is ruining it for another.

I mean, if it was poop-energy vs oil-energy we could take a moral highground, but the water-energy vs poop-energy makes it more dubious.

interesting case though :)

Hey! Yes, summer-mode is indeed in full effect, at least for a few more days. The STS participation was fair. I guess, there was at least one or two who were somehow involved in it in every session. As far as myself goes I got decent feedback on my approach, but mostly from people I met outside the session I presented in. I think I may have come across as somewhat alien to the number-heads and future scenario people who dominated it, but I still got a few interesting things to ponder...

As far as millions of moneys go: really, I was not aware, must be related to the summer oarty in some way or another? Think we'll just go with the karma-approach..

How was the general STS participation at the conference? It seems to be fairly interdiciplinary, so wondering if you got any feedbacks on how you approached the subject (meaning from a STS perspective)?

Also, nice to know what you have been up to. Summer is passing quickly and motivation for beeing useful is at a possible all time low.

I know I owe you a million moneys, but can we take a rein check on that one?
